Radiant Heat Panels for Reptiles – Wilbanks Advanced Series
Radiant Heat Panels for Reptiles WARHP™
In nature, reptiles rely on radiant energy from the sun to warm their bodies and regulate temperature throughout the day. WARHP™ panels are engineered to help recreate this natural style of overhead radiant heat within captive reptile environments.
Instead of producing harsh visible light or concentrating heat into a single surface, WARHP™ radiant heat panels create gentle overhead heat designed to support stable thermal gradients and natural reptile thermoregulation.

Professional-Grade Design & Construction
WARHP™ radiant heat panels are manufactured in Italy to exacting standards and built for reptile keepers who demand premium equipment, safe performance, and reliable long-term operation.
Each panel uses a fiber optic heat element encased in double silicone insulation, with an aluminum backing designed to help deflect heat downward. The panel is enclosed with a galvanized steel back plate and a coated steel front plate to direct heat toward the enclosure where reptiles can use it.
This construction helps create a noticeable difference between the heat on the front of the panel and the heat on the back, directing gentle overhead heat downward instead of transferring it upward.
More Than Just Another Reptile Heat Source
WARHP™ is designed to help simulate natural overhead radiant heat and support proper thermoregulation in captive reptile environments.
Sun-Like Radiant Heat
The sun provides radiant energy that reptiles rely on in the wild. WARHP™ panels are designed to help recreate that natural style of overhead heat.
Thermal Gradients
Proper heating should allow reptiles to move between warmer and cooler areas. WARHP™ panels help support stable temperature gradients.
No Bright Light
WARHP™ panels provide heat without adding bright visible light, making them ideal for keepers who want heat without disrupting natural light cycles.
Downward Heat Direction
The internal construction is designed to direct heat downward into the enclosure instead of wasting energy upward.
Thermostat Required
For safe and controlled performance, WARHP™ panels should be used with a pulse proportional or dimming thermostat.
Built for Keepers
Designed for reptile keepers who value safe enclosure design, premium materials, reliable heating, and professional-grade equipment.

Why Radiant Heat Panels Are Preferred for Reptile Enclosures
In nature, reptiles rely on radiant energy from the sun to warm their bodies and regulate temperature throughout the day. Radiant heat panels help recreate this natural heating style inside captive reptile enclosures by producing gentle overhead heat that influences the enclosure environment from above.
Instead of forcing heat into one concentrated area, radiant energy warms surfaces and surrounding areas in a more natural way. This helps establish stable temperature gradients so reptiles can choose the temperature they need at any given time.
Supporting Proper Thermoregulation in Reptiles
Reptiles depend on external heat sources to regulate their body temperature, a process known as thermoregulation. Proper thermoregulation supports digestion, immune function, activity levels, and long-term health.
WARHP™ radiant heat panels are designed to support this process by helping create a reliable warm zone while allowing cooler areas to remain available within the enclosure. This gives reptiles the opportunity to self-regulate naturally throughout the day.
Radiant Heat Panels vs Heat Lamps and Heat Mats
Heat lamps can create intense basking areas but often introduce bright light and sharp temperature fluctuations. Heat mats primarily warm the surface they contact and may not adequately heat the enclosure air, especially in larger or insulated enclosures.
Radiant heat panels deliver overhead, ambient-style heat without visible light. This makes them an effective and preferred heating solution for many snake and reptile species where consistent temperatures, safe heat distribution, and natural thermoregulation are priorities.
Using a Thermostat with Reptile Radiant Heat Panels
A radiant heat panel should always be controlled by a reliable thermostat. For best performance, WARHP™ radiant heat panels are designed to be used with pulse proportional or dimming thermostats that regulate power output and help maintain stable enclosure temperatures.
This creates a more controlled heating environment, supports safer temperature gradients, and gives reptiles the ability to move between warmer and cooler areas as needed.
Choosing the Right Size Radiant Heat Panel
The correct radiant heat panel depends on enclosure dimensions, room temperature, ventilation, insulation, and the species being kept. The WARHP™ sizing tool is designed to make selection easier by calculating cubic feet and recommending the appropriate model.
In cooler rooms, many keepers choose one size larger and control the panel with a proportional thermostat for extra heating capacity without sacrificing control.
